Telluria

Vladimir Sorokin’s novel “Telluria” is a dystopian work depicting a future world in the aftermath of global upheavals. The action takes place across a fragmented Europe and Russia, where new states and principalities have emerged. At the core of the narrative is tellurium—a metal used as a drug that endows people with extraordinary abilities. Composed of numerous individual vignettes, the novel creates a mosaic of this phantasmagoric world.
