Shantaram

“Shantaram” is an autobiographical novel based on real events from the author’s life. The protagonist, having escaped from an Australian prison, finds refuge in Bombay, where he immerses himself in the life of the Indian slums, becoming a counterfeiter, a smuggler, and even a mafia soldier. This is a story of self-discovery, love, friendship, and redemption set against the exotic backdrop of India.
