The Tale of the Golden Cockerel

“The Tale of the Golden Cockerel” is the final fairy tale by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, written in 1834 and published in 1835. The story tells of Tsar Dadon, who receives a golden cockerel from a wise sage to warn him of impending danger. When the tsar breaks the promise made to the wise man, tragic consequences follow. This edition features illustrations by the renowned artist Ivan Bilibin, celebrated for his Art Nouveau style incorporating elements of traditional Russian folk art.
